Medford, Ore. — The Medford Rotary Club is helping kids gain essential life skills through the game of golf.

A group of 12 Jefferson Elementary School students were the first to test out the equipment at Centennial Golf Course.

The National First Tee Program uses technical golf skills to teach students structure, curriculum and much more.

“Honesty, perseverance, it helps the as far as confidence in their work and really brings out the best in the game of golf and in the kids,” said Rotary member Jeremiah Paladino.

Sponsored players and teams will raise money through a tournament held on June 16th, which will pay for the program equipment.
