Escape attempt under investigation at Jackson Co. Jail

Medford, Ore. — Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a reported escape attempt at the county jail.

Deputies say they learned about the incident around 2:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon. Authorities say two windows were damaged on the third floor, and other evidence of an escape attempt was found nearby.

All inmates have been accounted for. Deputies say no one was injured in the attempted escape.

The investigation is ongoing. The Sheriff’s Office says more information is expected to be released on Sunday.
