Facebook’s Impact on Oregon’s Economy

Nearly 50-percent of Oregonians are now active users on Facebook spending an average of fifteen minutes a day on the social media website.

Business owners from all over Southern Oregon came out to a Facebook seminar at The Rogue Valley Country Club. Attendees from all types of industries learned new ways to use Facebook to promote their businesses.

Maxine Schlein, a spokeswoman for Facebook,explained first how to create a Facebook page. From there she explained the importance of maintaining a strong fan base.

The best way to do so is by posting engaging photos and comments. She said that often it’s a good idea to post questions. It’s an engaging way to interact with business.
