Former wife of man found dead in Hawthorne Park speaks out

HAWTHORNE SOTVOCentral Point, Ore. – A Central Point woman is speaking out tonight, saying that her former husband, the man who was found dead in Hawthorne Park last weekend, suffered from dementia. Linda Eisenberg contacted NBC5 News this week after she saw the story. She says that she’s been separated from Kelly Eisenberg since 1996, however she’s continued to help him and remain friends. According to Linda, Eisenberg was living with dementia and struggled with alcohol addiction. She says he lived with his sister in Medford and would wander to Hawthorne Park and forget his way home.

“A lot of people cared about Kelly, but he was just Kelly, he would not conform to the rules, you know, and that’s what he chose,” said Linda Eisenberg.

Eisenberg was found dead in Hawthorne Park last Saturday morning. Authorities say he likely froze to death.
