Foster Farms Linked to Salmonella Outbreak In Oregon

Salmonella has been found in a popular West coast based poultry producer, but this morning, Foster Farms is not issuing a recall.

Officials made theannouncement yesterday that chicken from the company had been linked to an outbreak of Salmonella in 2012.

At least 43 people in Oregon were affected, and 15 of those were hospitalized however, because testing found salmonella in less than 10 percent of the product, a recall does not have to be issued.

Officials say recent testing at the factory did not find any traces of the bacteria.
