Ashland, Ore. — A high speed pursuit crosses state borders. The man running from police in California is taken into custody in Oregon.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s office Jason Walter Davis was wanted in Yreka on charges of forcible rape and incest from earlier that day.
Davis managed to elude Yreka Police and California Highway Patrol driving north on I-5 before the Ashland Police department Deployed spike strips to stop his vehicle.
Davis was arrested around 11pm Saturday at the 76 gas station near Exit 19 in Ashland.
He’s in the Jackson County Jail on charges of reckless driving, attempt to elude and warrants out of California.
His bail is set at $8,000.
