New polls show the race for the White House tightening, and the economy continuing to dominate voter concerns.
Mitt Romney went to a vacant Ohio factory Thursday to blame the president for the state of the economy.
“He needs to sit down with folks and understand how difficult these years have been and take responsibility,” Romney said.
One day prior President Obama campaigned in Ohio and Michigan, touting his economic record.
“I placed my bets on American workers. Today General Motors is back on top,” Mr. Obama said.
“200,000 new jobs over the last two and half years. The American auto industry is back!”
A new CBS/New York Times poll finds the candidates tied, each claiming 46 percent of likely voters.
Several others show President Obama with a slight lead.
