Kids Unlimited buys 6 lots, planning expansion

Medford, Ore. – Kids Unlimited, a local organization that provides daycare and a charter school, has bought six surrounding properties, and plans on building onto their building. In the current plans, Kids Unlimited will build a new building in their back parking lot, and turn the lots they purchased into a parking lot.

The first property was bought in May of last year, and the most recent sales went through just last month. Kids Unlimited Director Tom Cole says the goal is to turn the existing neighborhood into a more family-friendly zone.

“The future plan is to really look at neighborhood development, and incorporating other community partners onto a campus in what we know is one of the most vulnerable neighborhoods in the city,” Cole said.

The new building will add an extra 15,000 square feet, and be designed as a multi-purpose facility for the organization and school. It will also be available for community use. Cole said work will likely be finished by the start of the next school year.

Two tenants remain in the houses, and are now paying rent to kids unlimited. They were given 30 days notice to find another residence.
