Klamath Falls stabbing victim dies, suspect facing murder charges

Klamath Falls, Ore. – A Klamath Falls man who was stabbed in the chest on the evening of July 30th has died from his injuries.

40-year-old Jesse Richard Toney was stabbed behind the Elk Apartments Saturday night.

31-year-old suspect Paul Christian Wuerz was originally charged with attempted murder, and first-degree assault.

Klamath County District Attorney Rob Patridge said Wuerz will now likely face murder charges, “We’re re-tooling, and we’ve scheduled it for grand jury on Monday.  It now becomes a full-blown murder case.”

Investigators say Wuerz was upset when Toney and another man were arguing loudly behind the apartments.

Police say Wuerz then went downstairs and stabbed Toney.
