Lindsey Johnson in court for first appearance

Grants Pass, Ore. —  An update to a story NBC5 News brought to you last week. Lindsey Johnson is accused of killing another driver last weekend. Johnson appeared in court on Thursday for her first appearance. Johnson is currently out on bail.

Police said Johnson rear-ended Kim Parsley Saturday night on I-5 near Grants Pass. The crash caused Parsley’s car to flip and hit the guardrail. Parsley died at the hospital, and his passenger suffered serious injuries.

Police said they spotted Johnson about 20 minutes after the crash, about a mile away.

Parsley’s family was in the courtroom today, and that’s when Johnson turned to address them.

“I’m so sorry,” Johnson said.

This isn’t the first time Johnson’s dealt with a DUII incident. In January 2015, she pleaded guilty to counts related to DUII and reckless driving.

That case was dismissed in December 2016, after she completed a year-long program of diversion classes.

Johnson’s next court appearance will be April 24th.
