Little Free Libraries pop up in Talent and Phoenix

Phoenix, Ore — The City of Phoenix unveiled it’s newest addition, a little free library right in front of City Hall.

The Little Free Library is a colorful hand made box containing donated adult and children’s books that are free for the community to use.

The box is part of an ongoing project by the Ford Institute to increase literacy in rural areas.

“So the premise is, take a book leave a book, please take a book, please leave a book, or both!” said Sara Crawford.

The little free library in front of the Phoenix City Hall (Which use to be a public library of it’s own) is just one of six in Phoenix and Talent.

You can find the other Little Free Libraries at Kamerin Springs Park, Chuck Roberts Park and Talent Elementary in Talent and at Otto Caster Park and outside the Headstart building in Phoenix.
