Local program giving Christmas gifts to senior citizens

SENIOR

Medford, Ore. – A community service program in the Rogue Valley is giving you the chance to make Christmas a little extra special for a senior citizen. The program’s called “Be a Santa to a Senior” and is put on every year by Home Instead Senior Care. It’s based all on community donations, giving people a chance to buy a Christmas present for a senior citizen.

“It’s great to have toys for tots and all those different things and for the homeless but often times the seniors are forgotten because they’re the quieter ones they don’t often have advocates to speak out for them,” said Rhonda Robertson.

You can participate at any Fred Meyer in Medford and Grants Pass or Club Northwest in Grants Pass. You’ll see the Christmas trees that are set out with ornaments that say who wants what. Gifts can go unwrapped in the donation boxes next to the trees. You can also help wrap the presents at the following times and locations:
