Local restaurant teaming up with ACCESS to help feed those in need

Ashland, Ore.–  Access Food Bank of Jackson County helps feed 12,000 people a month.
And now they’re getting some extra help from an Ashland restaurant.

Smithfields Pub and Pies opened up in October. They specialize in British style meat and vegetable pies.
Owner, Neil Clooney said they kept ending up with left overs. So last week he started donating 30 of those pies to access.

“It makes me feel happy. It makes all of us feel happy that we’re giving it to a worthy cause, that someone else is eating it, and they’re getting nourishment and they’re having good food.”

Clooney said he will continue to donate his surplus goods long as he can.
