Local students head back to school

Back to SchoolRogue Valley, Ore. — There was no shortage of school buses, backpacks, and smiles Tuesday morning as Medford, Grants Pass and Central Point students headed back to school.

Students filed into Abraham Lincoln Elementary School in Medford Tuesday morning eager to see friends and teachers. And the kids weren’t the only ones looking forward to the first day of classes.

“The first day back is really important because its the day we get to establish relationships between the kids and their teachers,” said Patty Frasier, Principal of Abraham Lincoln Elementary.

“I look forward to the most just seeing those new kids come in because they are so excited for a new year.. most elementary kids come ready to learn,” said Teacher, Amy Sampson.

And with kids back on campus police are reminding you to keep your speed low and stay alert in school zones and near school buses.
