MADGE arrests ‘public enemy number one’

Medford, Ore. – The Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement team arrested Bradley Jay Poff, a man they’ve been investigating for over two months. Police say they’ve been searching for Poff for sometime, after learning information he told to people in his life.

“The information the investigators had was that he was armed, and that he was boasting of not wanting to go back to prison, and that he would get in a shootout with police officers,” Medford Police Deputy Chief Brett Johnson said. “The fact that we believed he had multiple weapons made this a case that really stepped up to the forefront of what MADGE was doing.”

On Friday, September 25th, investigators spotted Poff in Sams Valley, and began following him. Police say Poff ran from them, crashed his car, grabbed a gun and ran into the woods. Police seized a number of firearms from the car.

The following Wednesday, MADGE learning Poff was at a house on the 3000 block of Highway 234. Police surrounded the house, however Poff was able to get away in a Chevy pickup truck with Brittany Nicol Jenkins. The chase led up Del Isle way, across from Highway 62, where Poff crashed the truck. Both subject fled on foot up into the rural hills.

When examining the truck, police located an explosive device, which they deemed to be active. An Oregon State Police Bomb Squad responded to the scene, and disabled the device.

Police were able to take Poff into custody within 10 to 15 minutes. Jenkins was not found. If you have any information in her whereabouts, you are asked to call police.
