Man accused of groping woman on greenway apologizes in court

Medford, Ore. — The man accused of groping a jogger on the Bear Creek Greenway pleads guilty Monday in court and apologizes for his behavior.

Samuel Boswell addressed the court today through a monitor. He pleaded guilty to attempt to commit a class B felony and said what he did that day was out of character.

Police said Boswell attacked a woman in broad daylight while she was running on the greenway off Biddle Road in February. In court Monday Boswell admitted to being on drugs at the time of the incident.

“If I could take it back I would. Because of my choice to take drugs I became somebody I wasn’t. I’ve had plenty of time to take a look at myself and I regret the choices I’ve made in my drug induced mind,” Boswell said.

Boswell also said he wants to turn his life around and apologized to the victim, who was not in court. Police said she’s a flight attendant from out of state.

The judge ordered Boswell to stay away from the greenway and sentenced him to 100 days in the Jackson County Jail. He will also spend three years on supervised probation.
