Man accused of murder enters ‘not guilty’ plea

Medford, Ore. – Robert Davies-Calhoun, 29, pleaded not guilty in a Jackson County Courtroom on Thursday, to charges of murder. Davies-Calhoun is accused of shooting and killing Douglas Spaur, 53, at the Stop N’ Go on Table Rock road,  on the morning of November 2, 2015.

Following the shooting, deputies said Davies-Calhoun took off on foot, before they caught him a few blocks away on Gibbon road. Authorities say the two men did not know each other, and still have not released a motive.

Davies-Calhoun is scheduled to be back in court for a pretrial hearing on November 23. He’s being held without bail in the Jackson County jail.

Oregon State Police and the Medford Police Department are also assisting in the investigation.
