Man Sought In Chiloquin Murder Investigation

Police are asking for your help tonight in locating a second person of interest in connection with Monday’s murder of a man near Chiloquin.

Police want to talk with James Collins, who goes by the nickname ‘Cowboy’, shown here in a mugshot from 2002.

Klamath County District Attorney Rob Partridge offered a description…

“He’s about 32 years old, is about 6 foot 4 and 200 pounds, brown hair, brown eyes – has tattoos on his neck, and tattoos on his left arm of flames.”

Patridge says Collins may have information about the killing of 28 year old Cheng Saechao…

“We’re continuing into the evening actively working the case, but right now we’ve identified him (Collins) as a person of interest.”

Saechao was found dead on the South Chiloquin Road Monday night.

“The autopsy of Mr. Saechao should take place tomorrow.” Said D.A. Patridge.

33 year old suspect David Mogelberg turned himself in to police Tuesday afternoon.

Patridge notes that Mogelberg is charged with murder, and second-degree arson…

“The arson charges stem from, stem from damage to the motor vehicle that we believe was involved in this incident.”

Mogelberg was arraigned on the charges this afternoon, the judge ordered him held without bail.

If you should see James Collins, don’t approach him directly – but call for police.

Police say that Cheng Saechao was from the northeast Portland area, and had been in Klamath Falls for only a short time.

Polive haven’t released any possible motive behind the killing.
