Medford Police identify suspects in Wednesday night shooting

MEDFORD, ORE. — Medford Police are on the hunt for a total of 5 suspects after they allegedly got out of a car, and one of them began shooting a gun outside of an apartment complex in West medford.

It happened Wednesday night just after  7pm near the corner of Clark and Narrigan.

Medford Police have identified the shooter as 17 year old Tyler Sandovol.

4 other suspects were involved according to police including 18-year-old Santiago Flores-Loveland, 18 year old Latraveon Deshawn “Trey” Wesley and 17 year old Chino Acuna. A 5th suspect was involved but hasn’t been identified.

Nearby resident Don Strein says he saw Wednesday night’s shooting play out from his front yard.

“They jumped the fence right here, and they went around the corner there and that’s when we heard all the fighting going on and the arguing and then all of sudden the three gun shots,” Strein explained.

William Houston, who lives nearby, also says he heard the gun shots, “Bang bang bang. We come running out, all the other neighbors came out and I saw a bunch of people running that way, we thought uh-oh some things up,” Houston said.

Medford Police Lt. Mike Budreau said Thursday that they were fortunate no one was hurt.

“There were people just feet away from where these rounds hit. In fact there was a 6 year old probably about 3 feet away from where one of the rounds struck,” Lt. Budreau said.

Lt. Budreau says the shooting could be gang related but they are still investigating.

He did say that in 2013, Flores-Loveland was involved in a drive-by shooting near Benson and Dakota Avenue.

Lt. Budreau says at this point it doesn’t appear Wednesday night’s shooting is related to last week’s drive by shooting several blocks away.
