Medford Police report 16 car thefts this week

Medford, Ore. — The Medford Police Department has investigated 16 stolen cars in the past week, seven of which were taken on Monday. Officers took to Facebook to alert the public about the rise in thefts.

Police noted most of the cases involved a spare key, either on the vehicle or near it. Officers also mentioned older Honda’s are taken more than any other car. The following advice was posted on the department’s Facebook page:

Please make sure you do not have a spare key in your car, and if you have an Honda, consider other options like a steering wheel lock.
