Medford, Ore. — A motorcyclist is hospitalized after police say he crashed while trying to pass another vehicle.
MPD says the driver was forced to lay his bike on its side to avoid hitting another vehicle as it turned into a driveway along Murphy road in Medford Wednesday morning.
Police say wet roads likely played a role in the incident.
Medford Police Officer Jim Swanson said, “always give yourself more room than what you think you need, you never know when the person in front of you will need to stop suddenly and with the roadway being wet or debris on the road that is going to extend the length to stop.”
Police also warn drivers that the first rains following a long dry spell brings up oils in the road that can make them slick.
