Names released in fatal crash near Hugo

OSP FATAL 3Hugo, Ore. — Oregon State Police have released the the names of the drivers involved in a fatal crash on I5 near Hugo.

Troopers say Robert Chavers, 86, was killed when a Toyota Camry drifted into his lane, and hit his car Friday morning around 10:30.

OSP said Chaver’s Ford Explorer lost control, flipped over the guardrail, and rolled down an embankment. He was pronounced dead on scene.

The Camry, driven by Yessica Maclovio Rodriguez, was then struck by a UPS truck, driven by Neil Perkins. Neither of those drivers were injured.

Fatigue is being investigated as a factor in the crash.
