One airlifted, two taken to the hospital after head-on crash

Eagle Point, Ore. — Three people were taken to the hospital, including one who was airlifted, following a serious crash outside of Eagle Point on Saturday.

Deputies with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 8300 block of East Antelope road, just after 1 Saturday afternoon.

They say one of the cars was driving too fast, and collided with the other head-on.

“One vehicle going up the hill was going too fast, lost control in the gravel, crossed over the center line and struck another vehicle that was coming down the hill,” Deputy Jesse Ainsworth said.

Two people had to be extricated out of the red car. One person was airlifted to the hospital for treatment, the other two were taken by ambulance. Their conditions are not known, but police say their injuries are not life-threatening.
