Oregon coast man faces multiple charges including involuntary servitude

Newport, Ore.– An Oregon coast man faces disturbing allegations. Accordingto a Newport Police investigation, 46-year-old Ronald Flinter helped 67-year-old Mahlon “Mel” Blose hire live-in caregivers through Craigslist.

Some of those listings appear to still be posted. Blose, who is bedridden and obese, required these caregivers to perform sexual favors.

Flinter reportedly threatened them with eviction if they didn’t comply. Heis also accused of spying on the caregivers when they were undressed.

Police say there are at least 4 victims, both male and female. They also seized evidence of child pornography from the home.

Flinter is charged with invasion of personal privacy, trafficking, and 2nd degree involuntary servitude.

Blose, who was returned to his home due to his health, is charged with 1st degree sexual abuse and unlawful penetration, 2nd degree involuntary servitude, trafficking, conspiring, and harassment.
