OSP investigating poaching case in Douglas County

0919-douglas-county-elkDouglas County, Ore. – Oregon State Police are seeking the public’s help to identify a person who illegally killed a bull elk in Douglas County.

According to OSP, troopers found the elk in an open field Saturday morning in the 4000 block of Rueben Road near Glendale.

Troopers determined the elk had been shot and left to waste. They estimate the elk was likely shot around 2:30 that same morning.

OSP said a $500 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction. Anyone with information is encouraged to call 1-800-452-7888 or 541-817-4473.
