PenAir announces new flights coming to Klamath Falls in October 2016

Crater Lake Klamath AirportKlamath Falls, Ore. — The Crater Lake Klamath Regional Airport will resume passenger service on October 5, 2016 according to PenAir.

The airline company made the announcement Thursday morning and said they’ll be offering flights between Klamath Falls and Portland twice a day on weekdays, and once on weekends.

PenAir will be using a 30 seat Saab 340 turbo prop aircraft for the flights.

Klamath Falls has been without passenger service since June of 2014. Klamath Falls and Pen Air signed an agreement in July of last year but the TSA wasn’t willing to provide security screening.

Federal lawmakers passed bills in the spring requiring the TSA to return.
