Police pursuit leads to two arrests

PoliceOre. — A car chase in Jackson County ended up in Douglas County with the suspect in custody.

Early Wednesday Oregon State Police and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office pursued a suspect believed to have been involved in a carjacking that involved a firearm, after reports of shots fired.

Two suspects left in different vehicles, one stolen from the property. The stolen car was found abandoned in the 1700 block of Highway 62 and the driver was found and arrested a short time after.

The car the other suspect was driving appeared to run out of gas on Highway 138 east near milepost 49 after a 100 mile pursuit and the suspect took off running.

Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and K-9 Grimm tracked the suspect down a short time later. The suspect is now in the Jackson County Jail.
