Police seize nearly half a million dollars worth of cocaine

CENTRAL POINT, Ore. – Nearly half a million dollars worth of cocaine is off the streets after a routine traffic stop Friday morning.

Oregon State Police say they pulled over a vehicle on I-5 near milemarker 17 around 9 am.

After suspecting criminal activity, and denied consensusto search the car troopers called the Medford Area Drug and Gang Enforcement.

Police say a K9 was able to find nearly 17 kilo’s worth of cocaine inside of a hidden compartment.

“These criminals are becoming more sophisticated in these concealed after-market compartments, so it makes it really tough at times and fortunately today we had the opportunity to apply a K9” said Oregon State Police Sr. Trooper Bill Matson

Christopher Winters, Taylor Thruelsen and Christopher Carrigan, all from Washington state were arrested on charges of unlawful possession of cocaine.
