Police warn residents of scammers

Central Point, Ore. — Central point police are warning residents to be cautious of who you allow to enter your home.

The warning comes after two men were let into a house on Bursell Road last Tuesday claiming to be from the water commission.

They said the men entered the home by saying they needed to look at the couple’s pipes. The couple became suspicious and asked for identification when one of the men began to look on a desk for something. Police said that’s when the men went back to their vehicle and took off.

According to police the men were driving a white Dodge or Chevy pickup truck without license plates.

The case is under investigation and police are asking for residents to report suspicious activity.
