Protesters gather in opposition of Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement

640x360_51005B00-DJLFJMedford, Ore. — About a dozen protesters gathered outside the Medford Federal Building Thursday morning to oppose the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement. The TPP is being formally signed today in New Zealand by 12 countries around the Pacific Rim, including the US.

Protesters this morning delivered a copy of a letter asking Senator Ron Wyden to oppose the deal. Opponents say the agreement will send jobs overseas, undermine environmental protection, jeopardize food safety and places investing over human rights and democracy.

Wyden has been a key supporter of the deal for democrats.
