Pursuit in Klamath Falls ends with Yreka man in custody

Klamath Falls, Ore. — A Yreka man is behind bars tonight following a pursuit that began in Klamath County, and ended in the Lava Beds National Monument.

38-year-old Cort Fredrick Lae faces multiple charges in California, including attempting to elude, driving without a license, and child endangerment.

A woman and two kids were also in the car.

He could face additional charges in Oregon, including attempted assault on a police officer.

“OSP trooper Sargent Barden set up spikes near the Pilot Gas Station just north of Klamath Falls, the subject avoided the spikes, and attempted to run him over.”

Spike strips were eventually used to stop Lae’s pickup truck, then officers had to use a taser to take him into custody.

Police say they found an automatic rifle, two handguns, and a large amount of ammo in the car.
