Record Breaking Year For Boatnik

While officials are still calculating how many people actually attended this years festival, they say this year is one for the books.

JJ DeForest, Boatnik Active Club President tells NBC 5, the festival broke records both Saturday and Sunday. The money raised by the festival will go back to help fund local youth programs.

DeForest says before the festival kicked off nearly $117,000 was raised and he expects that they’ve raised an additional $100,000 during the festival, meaning people were spending more money than ever before.

DeForest says “we had 3 or 4 vendors leave because they ran out of product because they sold so much product.”

One of the key components organizers say to having such a successful week is the hundreds of sponsors.

Organizers say they’ll rest up for about a week before they start planing for next year.
