Ore. — Recreational marijuana sales in Oregon are surpassing the government’s expectations. Within one week of legalizing recreational sales, Oregon dispensary sales have already reached an estimated $11-million, that’s according to NBC Portland affiliate KGW.
The government had estimated a net revenue of only $9-million.
In comparison, Colorado sales were at $5-million when their state legalized marijuana. In Washington, after one month of legalization, the state sold $2 million.
The government is not currently taxing marijuana sales in Oregon, that doesn’t kick in until January.
