Reward increased after bull elk illegally killed in Sam’s Valley

Jackson Co., Ore — The reward for information leading to the arrest of a suspect, accused of illegally killing a bull elk, has been increased by $500. The reward is now $1,000.

Oregon State Police Fish & Wildlife Troopers were made aware of the possible shooting on January 27th. They were called to the location near Agate road and Highway 234 in Sam’s Valley, after a witness noticed the elk with what appeared to be a bullet wound. A short time after the Troopers arrived, the elk died.

The witness told police they saw a newer, white, full size truck stopped in the road near where the bull was found.
