Running ‘Y’ Resort sold

Klamath Falls, Ore. – The Running ‘Y’ Resort in Klamath Falls is under new ownership.

Golfer Roger Ruiz says he’s not too concerned about the sale…

“No, because it’s been sold a couple times. So I figure it’s time to sell again, and have a new owner.”

Sale of the property was completed September 3rd, and made public on Tuesday. Public records show that William Lynch of CLV Properties purchased the resort for $3,050,000.

CoHo Services will take over day to day management of the resort.

Running ‘Y’ Resort General Manager Patrick Fetsch points out that no jobs have been lost…

“Not a one. Everybody that was on payroll last week was hired on one hour later.”

CoHo Spokesman John Taffin says upgrades will be made to the heating and cooling systems at the lodge, along with new maintenance equipment for the golf course.

Trey Senn of the Klamath County Economic Development Association says success for the Running ‘Y’ makes it easier to bring in new businesses…

“It does. We almost always put it in our package of information that we send out. An Arnold Palmer golf course is a nice deal for people.”

And Roger Ruiz agrees…

“It’s a beautiful course, and we just love coming out here.”

The lodge will continue to operate as a Holiday Inn Resort.

Jeld-Wen opened the Running ‘Y’ Resort in 1997.

The Running ‘Y’ and three other Jeld-Wen resorts were sold as a package deal in 2010.

A marketing agreement with Holiday Inn Resorts was signed in 2012.
