Scam Artist Poses as US Marshal for Free Health Services

A man is accused of posing as a US marshal and obtaining free health services from Rogue Regional Medical Center.

Police say 42-year-old Donald Lee Anderson Jr. is a convicted felon and well known scam artist.

On Thursday hospital staff called and reported an incident in October where a man came in, dressed up as a US marshal, used a fake name to receive services, and never paid his $1000 bill.

Police say Anderson had a black tactical vest, badge and all.

In a separate incident at the hospital a few days earlier, the same man said he was a concrete mixer and also did not pay for services.

A hospital employee spotted Anderson’s mugshot on the Jackson County Jail’s website. He was already behind bars on an unrelated charge.

Anderson is currently at the Jackson County Jail, charged with two counts of identity theft, impersonating a peace officer, among other charges.
