Crescent City, Ore. — Search and Rescue are continuing to have problems finding two people who were in a car that ended up in Smith River near Hiouchi outside Crescent City.
California Highway Patrol says the car went off the side of US 199 and rolled down the embankment into the river around 8 Saturday night.
The vehicle was completely emerged in water. Due to the rising water and swift current, Del Norte rescue crews have not been able to recover the car or the occupants.
They are still unaccounted for.
