Sen. Wyden talks opioid abuse in Medford

MEDFORD, Ore. — Senator Ron Wyden made a trip to the Rogue Valley on Saturday, to talk about the use and addiction of opioids here in Oregon.

The Senator met with doctors, pharmacists, and other health care providers at La Clinica in Medford. The group focused on the use and abuse of opioids in Oregon, which currently rates fourth in the nation for prescription abuse.

Senator Wyden said that it’s an issue that he’s taking to congress this year. He will also be having similar discussions in Eugene and Portland next week.
