Service held for former Commissioner Richard “Ric” Holt

Ashland, Ore. — A celebration of the life of a former Jackson County Commissioner was held today.

Richard “Ric” Arlen Holt died earlier this month after a long battle with diabetes. He was 77.

His funeral was held in Ashland this morning.

Holt was commissioner for 12 years before leaving office in 2002.

Holt was also known for his career as a child actor, with his most famous role as baby “Beau” in the 1939 blockbuster “Gone With the Wind.”
