Simmons Trial Day 2

A power packed day two for jurors in the case of Kaelin Rose Glazier… killed 15 years ago.

Jurors visited the scene were her body was found… and they heard testimony from her mother… saying she did not like the man who stands trial for her murder… William Frank Simmons.

4 years after Kaelin Glazier’s body was found in this Ruch field… a jury of 10 men and 6 women stepped off this bus to see the field with their own eyes.

Jury members weren’t allowed to ask questions or even discuss the case as they took in the site across haven road from where WIlliam Frank SImmons uncle used to live.

Judge and jury quickly back in court, where District Attorney Mark Huddleston called his first witness… Kaelin’s mother Kimberly Waller.

Waller spoke of a mother-daughter power struggle over freedom…

“She was very upset with me.”

And the moments after her disappearance.

Waller said Kaelin knew Simmons..

“He was a mutual friend of Kaelin and Clifford Ruhland her boyfriend… I didn’t know him personally but I knew of him.

And waller clearly didn’t like him..

“I tried to discourage Kaelin from any involvement with him.”

Almost immediately after Kaelin’s disappearance ..15 years ago…Waller began contacting members of the Ruch community ..the next day she stumbled upon Don Cheadle… Simmons uncle..

“He said she was here last night.”

Simmons lived in a trailer on his uncle’s property at the time it’s location marked with these cones..80 feet from where Glaziers remains were found 12 years after her death.
