Small medical plane crashes in Humboldt County with 4 aboard

0705 missing planeUpdate (08/01 12:10 p.m.) — Reach Air Medical Services has identified the three Cal-Ore Life Flight personnel that were on board a small medical transport plane that crashed Friday morning in Humbolt County.

According to Reach Air, Pilot Larry Mills, Flight Nurse Deborah Kroon, and Certified Flight Paramedic Michelle Tarwater were on board when the plane went down. The name of the patient has not been released due to privacy concerns.

Reach Air said the Pilot Larry Mills had over 20 years of flying experience and was a volunteer first responder for 12 years.

Humbolt County, Calif. — A small medical transport plane crashed early Friday morning in Humbolt County.

Reach Air Medical Services and Cal-Ore Life Flight confirmed that a Piper Cheyenne aircraft from Crescent City crashed as it headed to Oakland shortly after midnight.

Four people were on board: the pilot, a transport medic, a flight nurse and a patient. Humbolt County Sheriff officials have confirmed at least two fatalities.

Reach Air said they cannot provide the identity of those on board the aircraft, or any other details, until family notifications have been completed.
