Smudge Pot Stroll

Downtown Medford was hopping Friday night from the live music at the street fair to dozens of pedestrians strolling with wine glasses in hand. It was all part of this year’s Smudge Pot Stroll, a culinary journey through downtown Medford. NBC5’s Laura Cavanaugh was there.

Participants bought a glowing wine chalice. Then at each of the 17 smudge pot stops they were able to sip on local wines that were paired with delicious bites, prepared by award-winning chefs. It’s a unique event celebrating local fare and local business. And its something folks with whom we spoke say helps put Medford on the map. The Smudge Pot Stroll was so popular that it was sold out. Proceeds from the event will be donated to local scholarships.
