Snow Hits Mount Shasta

Winter has finally arrived for the city of Mount Shasta. A long awaited winter storm has left the streets covered in snow and many residents without power.

“The roads are just crazy,” said Sue Coveleski.

Roads were so icy that many residents decided to forgo cars and travel by foot.

“We have seen flooded streets. People pulling cars out of the snow. Neighbors shoveling driveways,” said resident Jody Jones.

Even with nearly six feet of snow on the side of roads, long time residents are not suprised by the severe storm.

“Well it’s not really out of the ordinary. We have been waiting for winter for months,” said resident of 30 years Terry Kay.

The goods news for both residents and businesses is that with 14 new feet of snow, Mount Shasta Ski Park will finally open tomorrow. A late start for residents who have been anticipating openeing day.
