SOU bans e-cigarettes on campus

Ashland, Ore. — Southern Oregon University is putting new restrictions on the use of electronic or e-cigarettes.

Cigarettes will now face the same restrictions as traditional cigarettes. Students will not be allowed to smoke them indoors or within 25 feet of any campus building.

They will also be prohibited in campus vehicles, and in designated areas.

SOU officials say the change to SOU’s code of student conduct puts the university in step with the policies of many other public entities.
