Southern Oregon doctor to run for governor

MEDFORD, ORE. — The race for Governor of Oregon just got a little tighter. A Southern Oregon doctor is throwing his name into the ring, to challenge governor Kate Brown in next spring’s democratic primary.

Dr. Julian W. Bell tells NBC5 that he’s running for two reasons. 1 for a better future for his two children.
And 2, climate change.

Bell has never ran for office before.

While he knows it’s no easy task, the democrat says he’s confident that Oregonians feel strongly enough about climate change that he could win.

While Bell doesn’t have a political background, he feels his work in the medical field has the same goals as a government official.

Bell says most of his campaign will be through social media and other platforms.
