Southern Oregon Pride festivities kick off in Ashland

Ashland, Ore. — One of the biggest celebrations for Southern Oregons LGBT community and friends kicked off last night in Ashland.

SO-Pride’s 2014 festival got started at club 66 with the Miss SO-Pride drag pageant. Participants say they look forward to keeping the pride well past this week of events.

Maliena said “Im very proud to be here representing SO-Pride, proud to be an individual, proud to be a queen and proud to be a part of this wonderful organization. The events continue today with a kickoff dance at the historic armory, concluding with the gay pride parade on Saturday in downtown Ashland.
