Superheroes run through Medford to raise money for non-profit

MEDFORD, Ore. — Superheros filled the streets of downtown Medford this morning for the first ever hero run. Participants donned capes and masks as well as running shoes.

The 5k is part of a North Medford High Schooler’s senior project, raising money for the non-profit Gamerosity.

“It’s kind of a new non-profit, not very many people in the Rogue Valley kind of know about them very much. They have a lot of national attention, but not a lot of local, so I just wanted to get a lot of awareness out for them,” said run organizer Kaleigh Hollingsworth.

Gamerosity puts care packages with iPads together for children with cancer. Organizers say the electronics help them re-connect with the world.

Around 100 people registered for the race, raising over $2,000. All of that money will go to Gamerosity.
