UPDATE: Central Point murder suspect indicted for murder

(Update 11/5 3:50pm) Medford, Ore. — Robert Kahlil Davies-Calhoun, the man charged with murdering a Central Point man Monday morning has officially been indicted on one charge of murder. A Jackson County grand jury returned the indictment Thursday afternoon. The district attorney’s office says he will likely be arraigned sometime early next week.


The man charged with murder in a shooting Monday appeared in court for the first time on Tuesday.

Robert Kahlil Davies-Calhoun was arrested yesterday after the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says he shot and killed 53-year-old Douglas Mitchell Spaur.

It happened around 9:30 a.m. outside the Stop N’ Go on Table Rock Road.

Davies-Calhoun was wanted on two outstanding misdemeanor warrants but is now also facing murder charges.

Today, he pleaded not guilty to those misdemeanor warrants but did not enter a plea on the murder charge.

Besides the misdemeanors and murder charge, Davies-Calhoun has no prior criminal record.

He’s being held without bail.
