Destrehan, L.A. — (WDSU) Two Destrehan, Louisiana high school teachers are facing felony charges for their alleged relationship with a 16-year-old student.
Officials with the Kenner Police Department arrested Shelley Dufresne and Rachel Respess Wednesday. They were taken to the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center on allegations of inappropriate sexual contact with the teenage Destrehan High student.
According to police an investigation began after the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office was notified by school administrators that the teen was bragging to other students about his relationship with the teachers.
It is alleged that cellphones and images are being reviewed of the three together.
“No matter what sex the victim is, everyone should be outraged,” Kenner Police Chief Michael Glaser said. “You have educators whose responsibility is the safety of children.”
