Teachers Rally for Fair Contract

Teachers from the Medford school district rallied on the streets of Medford today, saying they’re not budging to a contract

that wasn’t negotiable.

Fifty teachers from the school district rallied on the corner of McAndrews and Riverside for two hours this afternoon.

They say a recent contract was implemented that isn’t fair and they want a solution that’s good for the kids and the community.

“We don’t want to go to a strike, nobody does. I think that would be the last thing that any of us want. Its bad for the kids, bad for the community. We don’t want that but we do want to have a good school district.”

But Hollenbeck says they do want fairness and more time to prepare for their students.

Teachers will have to vote on whether or not to strike sometime after the first of the year.
